One the 6th day of Valtis, Emperor Haltar Valtos was assassianated. his assassians the rouge group known as the "chrono rebels" soon took advantage of the chaos and power struggle in the empire and seized control and created the Chrono Confederation. The Confederation weakened from the struggle soon fell apart and was raided by many other empires. The leader Greanor Faltar was a evil, corrupt, and useless tyrant, this lead to civil war withen the confederation. The opposition leader Kaal Cimmerian was intent on freeing his beloved confederation from the clutches of the evil tyrant who took advantage of the many worlds he commanded. withen a few months the "Cimmerian resistance" had lost 2 worlds to the "Chronos" and more than 4 BattleCruisers. Kaal knew he would have to pull a rabbit out of a hat sooner than later, the resistance depended on it. Greanor knew that he had the resistance on the run and knew he would need a way to make sure they didn't retake the worlds that he had recaptured. He then forced all the scientists of the confederation to make a super cruiser, a cruiser that would be a planet killer. in theory he knew that the cruiser should be able to penetrate the planets core and start a reaction that would destroy the entire system. he also knew that he would need a much better shield and hyperdrive than was on the normal cruisers and carriers. the scientists then proposed two new hyperdrive engine specs. the first initiated instantly on command and would propel the ship a good many lightyears away but there was a 30% chance that it would rip the ship apart when activated. the second required alot of energy to activate and would require the ship to remain behind when the explosion happened and absorb the energy from the explosion to send it into hyperspace. Greanor liking the second idea better than the first decided to have the first executed. he then told the scientist to make a shield that absorbed all energy from outside the shield long enough so that the ship did not explode before the energy was collected. withen a month the prototype was finished and a buffer had been installed to regulate the intense power. Greanor was extremly pleased and decided to trick Kaal by inviting him to the former imperial capital planet of Cralitas, and testing the ship there without him even noticing it as he had the scientist install a cloaking device in the ship before he left. however Kaal being smater than Greanor thought had a card up his sleeve that one wouldv'e guessed.
